Rebeccah Carroll serves on the SVS Leadership Team and is the Dean of Students, as well as SVS’s Lead Social Worker. Rebeccah was born and raised in Birmingham Alabama. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Birmingham Southern College in 2010, her Master of Art Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2013, and her Master of Social Work from Samford University in 2017. While teaching art and photography, Rebeccah realized that as much as she loved teaching, her true calling was connecting with and helping students overcome life’s hurdles; this realization led her to social work. Her personal background of growing up with a special healthcare need, and volunteering as a patient navigator for children with limb differences, has cultivated an intense love of helping children and adolescents understand and thrive through their differences. Rebeccah fell in love with Spring Valley School while leading an anti-bullying program through her internship in 2017 and was beyond excited to join the SVS family in 2017. Rebeccah spends her free time supporting her amazing son, Duncan, in all of his sporting interests, as well as spending time with their dogs, scuba diving, and hanging out at the beach.
